I'm very no nonsense when it comes to beauty products. I love my clothes and my accessories but a good tan is all I really need on my face and I'm ready to go. But I do love to have my nails painted. No color can scare me off, I own every color of the rainbow. Despite having short nails (I'm a dreaded nail biter....the nail technicians shun me like I have a disease), I still like to have paint on my nails. Plus, I ALWAYS have paint on my toe nails...even in the dead of winter, it's my personal rule.
Come over and paint your nails at my house! |
Nail polish can be expensive. I tend to stick to three brands of nail polish Sally Hansen, OPI and Essie. Sally Hansen is my favorite because it's on the cheaper side, cost wise, but it stays on my nails for awhile without chipping. I have a nasty habit of picking up a polish at CVS whenever I stop in to pick up a prescription or magazine. I have some cheap nail polish in my bin that turns my nails weird colors and I hate them. Even if I love the color, I'll shy away from them in fear that when I remove them my nails will be green underneath.
My mom is super dedicated in the summer, every day she repaints her toe nails to match her outfit for the day. Isn't that crazy.... Aint nobody got time for that! But, I'm not complaining because sometimes she'll come home with a new color as well...because she need's something to match a skirt she's going to wear tomorrow. Last week alone she had neon orange, yellow, blue and hot pink on her toes, crazy! You should see the amount of nail polish remover we go through in this house.
Anyways, some nail polish brands are expensive! As much as I love Essie, I don't have the cash to spend $9 on a bottle. But, I was excited when I found a special nail polish deal that is currently going on at Sephora. They have a OPI by Sephora brand in their stores and normally they are $9.50 (!!!) a bottle but they currently have a discount....buy 3 nail polishes for $10! That's right in my price range. Plus the deal includes top coats as well. I own a couple top coats from Sephora and I highly recommend them because they go on smoothly and last a long time. I'm thinking about picking up a green nail polish and the rainbow and turquoise top coats, but I also love that metallic mulberry!
What's your favorite nail polish brand?
Are you brave enough to shy away from the typical pink!?

My favorite polish is from Crabtree and Evelyn! I have one in Sky Blue that I love, but I really want to get a nice deep color for the fall :)

love the glitter polish!
ReplyDeleteI can NOT believe Linda changes her nail polish everyday!! Insane.
ReplyDeleteYeah she's out of her mind... but you know Linda, likes to match from head to toe.
DeleteI love Sephora nail polishes!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I am looking at the wrong stores but my drug stores have the worst selection of nail polish. I rarely do my own nails but I do love looking at all of the color options
ReplyDeleteI typically look in CVS or Target for nail polish!
