Fall Trends on J Crew (Plus, A Sale!)

You all know by now that I love a good sale. It's almost impossible for me to pass up a great deal, especially a great deal from J Crew. J Crew has really knocked it out of the park with their fall line. It's not often that I love every single item in a store, but they have so many classic pieces that I really needed to tame my spending last time I was in there. It won't be long before I'm homeless living in a cardboard box with a great wardrobe. Anyways, this week J Crew has 25% off select shirts, sweaters and pants, so I decided to highlight some of my favorites from the sale.

One of my favorite trends for fall is silk. It's great for those fall nights that are still warm (it's supposed to be 90 degrees today in the 518!). I'm loving both of these tops. Firstly, I love pink and navy together and even though the collar is a little funky, its removable so you have two different looks in one shirt. The Scalloped silk blouse is really beautiful and can be paired with a navy pencil skirt for work or a cute pair of jeans for a date night. The only drawback is personally, I'm not a big fan of 3 quarter length tops, they always get rolled up to my elbows...but thats just me.

My next favorite trend is sweaters that look like sweatshirts. These crew neck "sweaters" are very casual which I love. They would be perfect for apple picking or going out to lunch with friends because there are times when you want to dress down, but not too dressed down... do you catch my drift? Pair them with a pair of leggings and flats and it's the perfect comfortable but cute look.

I know I've said it a million times, but I'm a tom-boy at heart. I love a comfortable button down that you can wear a tee-shirt under. I especially love one you don't have to iron...but thats hard to find. I own a J Crew basic chambray shirt and I really love it. It's soft and doesn't have that constricted feeling that some button downs have. The Mixed Oxford shirt on the left had this great preppy feel with so many different patterns. It's definitely a shirt for the brave, willing to stand out in the crowd but I think it would look great with a pink or navy pencil skirt for work. The beaded chambray on the right is a dressier version of the traditional chambray, but I'm a big fan. Just be careful washing it, you don't want to lose any of the beads.

J Crew pants are very flattering on all body types, but the real reason I chose these pants were the color. I hate the idea of putting away all your brightly colored tops and shorts once fall comes, so this would allow me to bring the bright colors into fall. I like the rolled look with a white tee shirt and a pair of leopard flats (because lets be real, I'm not coordinated enough for those heels). I've actually been on the lookout for a nail polish this color...so if you see any let me know!
