Friday Favorites

TGIF!
Today is an exciting Friday for me because it's my first paid Friday off! I signed up to work extra hours during the rest of the work pay period so that I can have every other Friday off and it was so worth it. Being able to sleep in a little later and have an extended weekend is amazing. Plus it gives me extra hours to work on my blog, hooray!

Here are some weekend reads for all of you:
  • With Halloween less than a month away, I'm so excited for all the scary movies that will be playing on TV. I stumbled upon this Buzzfeed article that highlights the 20 Scariest Episodes of "Are You Afraid of the Dark" which used to be one of my favorite shows as a kid. Seriously, the episode with the pool built upon an old burial ground where they have that bloody skeleton rise from the waters still gives me the shivers... (they ranked it #2).
  • The College Prepster recently did a post on Heart & Arrow, an Etsy shop that makes really cute desk accessories. I'm definitely pre-ordering the Blog Weekly Planner Notepad because I'm constantly writing down my inspiration on sticky notes and I'd like something a little more organized.
  • So I'm kind of obsessed with Amal Alamuddin, George Clooney's new wife. She's gorgeous and a fantastic dresser but the real reason I have such a girl crush on her is that she is educated and was successful way before George came along. Girl has beauty and brains!
  • I haven't been shopping in over a month (#progress) but it hasn't stopped me from getting inspiration for when my shopping freeze ends. I loved Adriana from Leopard Martini's faux leather dress from ShopBop (currently on sale) and Hannah from Champagne Lifestyle's tartan blouse (only $16 from Forever 21)!
  • Since I'm waiting for Lena Dunham's new book to arrive on my doorstep, I've been catching up on my magazines during my work breaks. InStyle magazine did a spread on Lauren Conrad's Beverly Hills Penthouse and I am in love with her decorating style. Her home is beautiful and she does such a great job adding tiny personalized details (like vintage apple artwork as a nod to her husband William Tell) that make her house uniquely her own. My personal favorite is her home office which has an orange and pink theme!
What are you loving this week?
xoxo

  2. Ahh, isn't having a Friday off the best?! We had some budget cuts, so instead of getting overtime, I get my time off at the end of the week. Hope that you have a great weekend :)
