New Recipe: Grandma's Pumpkin Pie

Happy Tasty Tuesday!
You guys are in for a real treat today because I'm sharing my grandma's world famous pumpkin pie recipe! It's supposed to be top secret so you have to promise that you won't tell anyone I gave it to you (haha!). Typically on Thanksgiving and Christmas my family puts out such a spread of delicious appetizers and dinners that I never have room for dessert but I always have to make an exception for this AMAZING pie. I could easily sit there and eat an entire pie by myself, it's that good. Now my grandma always made it around the holidays and it became so much of a tradition that after she passed away my cousin Zach took on the responsibility. I've found that it's really hard to re-create recipes that my grandma created because she baked with that extra ingredient, love, that always made the food taste better. But, I can honestly say that Zach has done an awesome job at mastering her recipe and I look forward to eating it every year!

Ingredients: **Makes 2-3 pies**
  • 2-3 Keebler Ready Graham Pie Crusts
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups canned pureed pumpkin mix
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar packed
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/2 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground cloves
  • 3 cups evaporated milk
Directions:
  • Chill pie crusts ahead of time so they're cold.
  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Combine 4 eggs, slightly beaten, with 3 cups of the pumpkin puree and set aside.
  • Combine brown sugar, granulated sugar, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and ground cloves and mix together.
  • Blend dry ingredients in with the pumpkin mixture. Stir in evaporated milk until completely combined.
  • Pour mixture into cold crusts and place into oven.
  • Cook pies for 15 minutes at 425 degrees and then lower the oven temperature to 350 degrees and bake for another 35 minutes (Tip: it's ready when a knife is inserted 2 inches from the edge and it comes out clean).

  2. Mmm I'll have to try out your grandma's pumpkin pie recipe! We make my grandma's frosted shortbread cookies and chocolate truffles every year :)
