New Recipe: Stovetop Bacon Macaroni & Cheese

Happy Tasty Tuesday
One of the worst thing about cooking is the cleanup that goes along with it so I tend to gravitate towards dishes that use as little pots and pans as possible. This way after I have a full belly I don't need to worry about doing dishes when I'm done eating and instead I can sit back and relax. This specific recipe is a quick cleanup and can be made entirely on the stove top.

Ingredients:
  • 1 box cellentani or corkscrew pasta
  • 1 block of sharp cheddar cheese from the cheese section of your grocery store
  • 3 cups heavy cream
  • 1 package of bacon (whichever brand/type you prefer)
  • 1 tbsp sea salt
  • pepper to taste
Directions:
  • Cook pasta in pasta pot according to box directions. When boiling, add sea salt to water to give it some flavor. Once pasta is cooked, drain and set aside.
  • In a skillet cook bacon until crunchy. Drain grease from skillet (don't pour it down the drain because it will clog your pipes) but don't rinse out the skillet.
  • Place cooked bacon on a plate or cutting board and chop it up into pieces and set aside.
  • Add heavy cream to used skillet and bring to a boil.
  • While waiting for cream to boil, begin grating the block of cheddar cheese.
  • Once heavy cream is boiling, add grated cheese and chopped bacon back into skillet and completely combine.
  • Once cheese has melted, add cooked pasta to skillet and stir to combine. Turn stove on low heat and let simmer for 6-8 minutes or until mixture begins to thicken up. While thickening, season with pepper.
  • Enjoy!
