It has been quite difficult to get back into the swing of things this week. First of all I am missing my mafia crew who I vacationed with and second of all the jump back into cold weather has not been the easiest transition. So my apologies in advance if over the next week I continue to post on my vacation to St. Maarten because I am missing my friends. Let me start off with a quick recap of my adventures so you can get the general idea of the craziness that was our trip to paradise.
Where we stayed:
We rented out a 26 person house, located on the Dutch side of St. Maarten. Our home for the week was three stories tall with two pools and a hot tub. It was located on the waterfront with a hotel casino next door and a tiki beach bar only a short walk down the beach away.
What we did:
- Our days were made up of three main things: sand, sun and drinks. I may or may not have gone a little overboard on the last two, but when in Rome...
- Our nights were made up of games, dancing and eating. Again, overdosing on all three made for plenty of laughter and memories. By the end of the trip my cheeks hurt from laughing so hard, it wasn't uncommon for impromptu dance parties or karaoke break out in the house.
- We traveled to various beaches on the island, where we lounged, visited the local beach bars, and jumped on trampolines located in the middle of the ocean. Some friends parasailed, but I preferred to have an aloe massage on the beach.
- Visited several restaurants in both the Dutch and French sides of the island. St. Maarten has some of the most amazing restaurants I have ever enjoyed. The fish was so fresh and their meals were creative and delicious. One night I dined at Spiga, an world renown Italian restaurant where I enjoyed delicious wine and homemade ravioli stuffed with short ribs, it was amazing.
- Took over the bars. Since there were 26 of us it was not uncommon for us to take over any bar we entered by claiming the dance floor. Wherever we went people were shocked and impressed at the size of our "family." I definitely had to step up my dancing game after watching some of my friends moves.
- Traveled to the Prickly Pear, a private island in Antigua with the bluest waters I have ever seen. I'm going to do a separate post on this trip because it was absolutely stunning and have so many pictures to share from it.

My beautiful roommates for the week!

I'm the luckiest girl in the world because not only do I get to travel with a crew of lifelong friends, but I also get to travel with my three cousins who are like brothers to me. It's nice to go on adventures together as family and make these memories together.
Again, my apologies in advance for bombarding you with posts about St. Maarten over the next week, I'm just dreaming of going back to paradise!
Tell me about your favorite vacation you've ever taken!
xoxo

ReplyDeleteIt's so nice and inspiring to see you having fun with friends. It's been a while since I hung out with a couple of my friends so I'm kind of missing them.
It's a really lovely trip. Now, I wanna go to the beach to.
