25 Before 25 Goal: Drink More Water

So as I told you all last week I got a facial at my favorite salon Changes. I try and get a facial at least twice a year because it helps to moisturize my face in the winter and repair some of the sun damage in the summer. Anyways, I was complaining to esthetician that although my cheeks get super dry in the winter I still always have an oily forehead and I was wondering the cause of it since I'm good about keeping my face clean. She told me something that I didn't know before, I was most likely dehydrated! Apparently when you are dehydrated your forehead (and upper back) produces oils to compensate for it. For some reason I related dehydration with dry skin but it is actually the opposite.
So after she completely rehydrated my skin with a facial she recommended to me that I try drinking more water a day for a month and see if I see any changes in my skin. This goal was a perfect way to cross out drinking more water on my 25 Before 25 list so during the next month I will be bringing a water bottle to work and filling it throughout the day. The water bottle holds 13oz of water so I'm hoping to get at least 3 of those in during a work day totaling 39oz. I actually started the water bottle goal last Friday, the day after my facial, and although I had to get up from my desk and pee every 45 minutes, I'm hoping it will make a difference.
Does anyone else have the goal of drinking more water in 2014?
Do you have any tips for me for keeping hydrated?

  1. That's interesting, thanks for sharing!

  2. I'm terrible at drinking water! I need to do it more!

  3. It is definitely a goal I have for myself too! I never drink enough water!

  4. I have a bottel of 2 liters on my desk and I drink it totally everyday.

  5. Last year around Sept-November I was awesome at drinking more water. I was doing about 90oz a day, which is actually a really good amount. And then the holidays happened and I got lazy. Now I'm back to it.
I have a 24oz bottle at my desk and I try to fill it 3-4 times a day. Lately I've only been hitting 2x. It's hard to force yourself to drink (anything really) when you think you aren't thirsty, but your body really is!

  6. That's a great goal! It's hard to remember to hydrate during the workday. I keep a tumbler on my desk, and honestly my best tip to drink water is to have a straw! Sounds simple but you'll end up drinking much more!

  7. I have started drinking more water since the holiday have ended and I can honestly say I can tell a difference!

  8. I need to start drinking more water and I have been doing a better job. I still need my diet Pepsi during the day.

  9. I have the same goal with water. I am going to have to carry a big water bottle around.
would you like to follow each other? Let me know

  10. I try to drink at least 2 water bottles a day while at work! It helps so much with staying awake but I definitely feel ya on going to the bathroom constantly!

  11. I really should drink more water. I have the worst excuse...I hate public washrooms so I TRY to avoid drinking liquids if I'm gonna be out and about.

  12. I'm trying to make a better effort to drink more water, but sometimes I just forget when I'm busy at work!!
