Maxi Moment

Truth be told I'm not ready to plunge into fall. Despite the fact that I am looking forward to wearing some of the latest fall new arrivals and trends I have to remind myself that winter in the 518 is long and exhausting and I don't want to be sick of wearing pants by December. So I'm holding out on pulling out the fall clothes and instead I'm trying to transition my summer wardrobe to fit into September. For the most part this month has been pretty hot so I haven't had to make much of a change to my wardrobe but every once in awhile we get a day in the lower 70's, so thats where the maxi comes in. I love maxis mainly because they're comfortable... they're basically sweatpants in dress form but I also love how versatile they can be. It's so easy to dress them up with a pair of wedges and fun jewelry for getting drinks outside on a weekend night or keep them casual with a hat and sunnies for running errands.
I picked up this black maxi in Macy's last year and instantly fell in love because its so comfortable and it doesn't drag on the ground (something us short people have a serious problem with when shopping for maxi dresses). Once I added some gold jewelry and a colorful statement bag I had a simple but chic outfit. Side note: I'm obsessed with that cobalt blue ALDO bag (sold out but this one is similar), I had my eye on it for months last year and when I finally made the plunge it became a wardrobe staple.

  1. My outfit for today was a maxi too! I love the neckline of yours, and the necklace you picked! I feel the same about losing summer weather!

  2. I have the opposite problem - maxis are always too short on me! Maybe next year I'll find the perfect one. I love yours!

  3. I love that maxi dress on you! I thought about getting one this summer but I'm not sure if I am a maxi type of person... That is a perfect maxi dress though!
