Do you ever have that easy go-to meal for weekend nights? For as long as I can remember, Saturdays in the Fall/Winter meant pizza night. It was quick and easy to make for those times we were out all day long and didn't feel like cooking but it's still delicious. In my house we very rarely order pizza, I'm not sure why but we just always made our own, probably because it's cheaper and you can customize the toppings to whatever you like. Plus there is nothing better than a homemade pizza crust, so delicious! So I encourage you, next time you're in the mood for pizza try making one from scratch!
Ingredients: (obviously you can add the toppings of your choice)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 packages of dough (I like to go to my local bakery and get them--- its fresher that the grocery store).
- 3/4 cup pizza sauce of your choice (I use Testo's but it's not available outside the 518).
- 1 pkg of fresh mozzerella
- 1 pkg pepperoni
- 1 pkg mushrooms
- 2 meatballs (you can find my recipe for meatballs here)
Pre-cooked pizza
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- On a pizza stone (or cookie sheet if you don't have a pizza stone--though I highly recommend the investment), spread olive oil evenly.
- Stretch the pizza dough over the stone (I recommend taking the dough out of refridgerator 30 mins prior to cooking because the dough is easier to spread when room temperature).
- Crush garlic and spread over the stretched out dough and top with sauce leaving 1 inch around the pizza free from sauce for the crust.
- Top with fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms and chopped up meatballs.
- Cook in the oven for 40 minutes or until crust is golden brown.
- Enjoy!

Wow, looks so amazing & delicious! Whenever I make "homemade" pizza, it's always the pita pizza kind where I just add cheese & toppings to a piece of pita bread. Might have to try this recipe!!

My mom always made homemade pizzas, too, but mini ones with Pillsbury biscuits as the dough. To this day, I love them, but I'll definitely give your recipe a try. I'm always looking for ways to change things up in the kitchen.
