New Recipe: Crispy Asian Green Beans

Happy Tasty Tuesday!
Since I may have been overwhelming you all with the number of pasta recipes I have been posting over the past few weeks, I decided to switch things up and go for a healthier approach for this weeks post. With spring on the horizon in Upstate New York the sweaters are being put away and the skirts and shorts are coming out. So it's time to take a break from the carb filled meals and incorporate more vegetables into this little blog.
Ingredients:
  • 1lb green beans (ends trimmed)
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/4 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
Directions:
  • Trim ends off green beans, set aside
  • In a skillet, heat sesame oil and garlic over medium heat. Stir frequently so garlic doesn't burn.
  • Add green beans and stir to evenly coat in oil/garlic.
  • Sauté for 5-6 minutes until beans are tender, stir frequently.
  • Add soy sauce, pepper, garlic salt and red pepper flakes and stir to combine for about 4 minutes.
  • Enjoy!
xoxo
