Olympic Rings

Has anyone else been watching the Olympics? The idea of competing for a gold medal completely blows my mind, mainly because I don't have an athletic bone in my body and there is no way I could ever achieve such greatness. Being coordinated enough to make it up a flight of stairs without tripping can be a challenge for me so the fact that these ice skaters can leap through the air on a tiny blade without losing their balance in mind blowing. I think it's so amazing that these athletes train their entire lives for this moment and the entire world is watching and cheering them on.

So today's post has Olympic envy in mind. I thought it would be fun to find actual rings to mimic the logo of the Olympics, the famous 5 rings. I've just recently began wearing more rings. Typically rings annoy me and agitate my fingers and the first thing I do when I get home is take them off but I have been branching out more lately an added more rings to my ensemble. I tend to purchase more statement rings because I like my jewelry to tell a story so I picked out 5 of my favorite rings in the red, blue, yellow, black and green theme!

Also if you're feeling especially patriotic when rooting for Team USA, you could sport this American Heart ring from Forever 21 (perfect for Forth of July as well!).
Finally, what are your thoughts on the Team USA Olympic uniforms designed my Ralph Lauren? I know a lot of people thought they were ugly but I was personally a fan. First of all they look super warm, which I'm guessing is a necessity when competing in Russia. Also Ralph Lauren always makes classic American fashion and I think these really help our olympians stand out in the crowd. I would totally rock that sweater if it was in my closet!

Have you been watching the Olympics?

  4. I wrote an Olympics themed post today too! At first I hated the sweaters, but now I think they were a great choice. They're just so in your face "I'm an American" you can't help but love them.

  6. I was not really a fan of their outfits honestly. I thought they seemed kind of tacky. They definitely made a statement, though! You couldn't miss them!

  8. I love the Olympics and love your post! What a great idea to find olympic themed rings- great selections.

Regarding the sweater- at a first glance it is not my favorite, but quite easy to warm up to the idea of rocking the all-Amercian sweater with some skinny jeans and sleek boots :).

  11. The 5 rings you picked out are adorable! I usually wear the same two rings every day - my mom's first engagement ring from my dad & my sorority ring - but like you, I've lately been buying cute costume rings. And I really want that Olympic cardigan.
