One of the reasons I love blogging so much is that I feel like a have a group of trusted friends who I can rely on when I am looking for suggestions regarding certain products. I've been looking for flights to Chicago for a long weekend this summer and I might end up traveling alone for the first time (eek). The thought of going on a plane alone is terrifying but I'm trying to go more out of my comfort zone so I guess it is now or never. Anyways, when I travel I REFUSE to check a bag, especially if I'm only visiting somewhere for a few days so I rely on good carry-on luggage that will fit in the overhead compartments.
Normally when I travel I always bring my Large Vera Bradley Duffel because I know it meets the size requirements and it's flexible material allows me to fulfill my overpacking addiction. But after lugging my duffle and Northface backpack through the airports of Costa Rica I decided enough is enough and it was time that I invested in a piece of luggage with wheels. I still need one that is large enough to hold enough clothing for a trip, but not big enough that it would have to be checked. I know sometimes luggage with wheels doesn't fit in the overhead compartment so those pieces would be something I would have to rule out before I made a purchase.
So I'm turning the question to you guys, do you have any wheeled carry-on luggage recommendations. I'm basically looking for the biggest piece of luggage that would still be allowed to carry-on a plane!
Here are a few pieces that I thought looked great for traveling:
Also how adorable is this luggage tag from The Pink Giraffe!?

I use my Vera bag too! I have wheeled luggage from target that is still considered carry on size! They have several options!

I would do a wheeled duffel for weekend traveling--it still gives you the opportunity to overpack! The only downside is if it appears too full then they might make you check it last minute...which is why the hard case is a great option too! (I see that I am not much help haha)
ReplyDeleteI am in dyer need of a new suitcase! If you get any good recommendations I would love to know as well!
ReplyDeleteI highly recommend anything from North Face or the Swiss (available at target). I travel a ton and those are the only 2 brands that stand up to it and that have a great warranty!

Ooh I will definitely be looking into these, thanks AJ! I love a good warranty!
DeleteI am the same way I hate checking luggage and dealing with the whole baggage claim thing. I use my Vera Bradley large duffle for my carry on bag but when I am having to check luggage I use my Hartmann Luggage - it's awesome and holds up really well!

Thanks for the recommendation Lauren!
DeleteHere is the deal. I have never flown before and I am not scared of the flight itself but the actual airport. In less than a month I will be taking my first flight ever...alone! And btw Thanks for reminding me I need luggage tags! I didnt know the Vera bags were small enough to be considered carry on! I am taking that!!!

You should def check out the Pink Giraffe for luggage tags they have so many fun patterns! Also navigating the airport can be stressful but traveling is the best!
DeleteI LOVE flying. Seriously. I wish I could have a job where all I did was travel, because I could so live out of a suitcase. My Dad travels alot for work and he says you'd get sick of it, but I think it would be decades before I ever would.
ReplyDeleteAnyways. I think I'll do a post about travel bags coming up, since it's almost summer. But here's a few links to ones I've seen recommended. If you still want a duffle bag type, this one is simple but super cute!. Or if you want something sturdy, this one has inset wheels so it could fit better
