Happy Tasty Tuesday Everybody!
In going with the Christmas theme the next two Tasty Tuesdays will be cookie recipes! I spent my weekend baking away and my kitchen smells fabulous. My waist line is not very happy with me but thats okay because this is the time of year I'm allowed to take a break from watching what I eat and treat myself, right? These snowball cookies literally took 10 minutes to prepare and 10 minutes to bake so it's a great quick and easy cookie recipe for you non-bakers out there too!
Ingredients:
- 1 cup butter softened
- 1/2 cup sifted confectioners sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 3/4 cup almonds
- Extra confectioners sugar (prob about 1 cup for rolling)
Cookies prior to sugar rolling |
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees
- Combine butter, sugar and vanilla until mixed together thoroughly.
- Add flour, salt and almonds to mixture.
- Roll dough into 1 inch balls, place on ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake until set but NOT browned. (about 10 minutes)
- While still warm, roll in confectioners sugar.
- Let cook and roll them in confections sugar again.
- Eat until your stomach hurts.
