Looks for Less

One thing I need to improve upon as a shopper is going out shopping with the intent to search for items on my wish list, rather than just heading to the mall and coming home with a bunch of random items. I need to be better about having a plan when I get there as in "I'm here to find the perfect cable knit sweater" instead of "oh that shirt is cute, I need that" (guilty). Being a smart shopper also means pricing the items on your wish list and checking out different options before making the purchase. Shopping around, looking at different brands and comparing prices can help prevent those spontaneous purchases, trust me your bank statement will thank you.
Lately, I've been doing more online shopping, which some would think was a bad thing but really it helps me price check the items I'm looking for and keeping an eye on sales, promo codes, free shipping weeks, and discounts. I'm sure I'm not the only one who receives countless emails from different stores advertising sales and even though those sales can be deadly, they can also alert you to when those items you've had your eye on, go on sale.
I've been looking for a new navy cross body bag and a plaid blanket scarf for this fall season and started pricing them out to determine my budget. There are a variety of options to choose from at different price ranges, but it does show you can find great fashion at any price as long as you look around to see what different stores offer. So far I'm leaning towards the Brina Box scarf, but I still haven't made a decision on the cross body yet, also I love the C Wonder option.

Save vs. Splurge: Brown Leather Totes

So I'm a little too obsessed with the new brown leather tote bag from J Crew's Spring Collection and it had me thinking about the perfect brown leather tote. I have brown leather handbags but I don't really own a nice tote bag. Now that I head to the office each day I realize that I like to have a big bag to carry all my stuff in (lunch, morning smoothie, planner, and a good book) so I need it to be a decent size. But I also want that bag to be separate from my day to day purse, since my Beau bag would be a nightmare to clean out to make additional room for all my work necessities.

When doing my research I found 4 great bags at a variety of different price points and beautiful and unique in the own way. Personally if you are looking for a great bag at a not so expensive price I would have to recommend the Urban Outfitters Vegan Leather bag because not only does it look expensive, its also reversible so you get two bags in one (jackpot!).

Do you have a nice tote bag that you love?
If so where is it from?

Look for Less: Leather Dress, Plus a Little Halloween Fun

I cant get enough of leather, I've been gravitating to leather pieces every time I enter a store, whether it be skirts, jackets or tops. If you remember back in September when I was in Vermont for girls weekend, I saw this amazing black leather Theory dress for a mere $800. Obviously that is way way way out of my price range but I didn't stop looking for the perfect leather dress. This week I stumbled upon this beautiful tan leather dress from Anthropologie and it fits much better into my price range, only $148! Plus it has short sleeves so it covers me up a little more than a sleeveless dress would.

Would you wear a leather dress?
What looks for less have you discovered lately?

I also wanted to wish all my blog followers a Happy Halloween!
I am so excited to hand out candy to trick or treaters today since this will be the first time in forever that I didn't have night class on Halloween.
Thought I would share one of the funniest/creepiest Buzzfeed articles I have seen in awhile titled:
The 13 Creepiest Things A Child Has Ever Said To A Parent
This article literally made me LOL and pray that my future children never say things like that...ever.
